This CPD-accredited online Leadership and Management Essentials Package gives new and developing managers access to five practical leadership, management and HR training courses covering recruitment, interviewing, staff induction, probationary reviews and effective 1:1 meetings.

Designed for new and aspiring supervisors, team leaders, managers and business owners, this package provides practical management training for new managers covering the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through to probation management and staff development.

Five courses. Five certificates. One package.

Purchased separately, the five courses included in this package would cost £255. Buy the complete package for £179, saving you £76 (30%) while gaining a structured management training pathway from recruitment through to staff development.

Each course includes its own assessment and certificate, helping you build practical leadership and management skills while gaining recognised evidence of your learning.

Why choose this training package?

From recruiting the right candidate to supporting them through probation and ongoing development, managers play a vital role at every stage of employment. When these processes are unclear or inconsistent, organisations can face avoidable risks, including poor hiring decisions, weak documentation, low staff confidence, performance issues and difficult conversations later down the line.

This package brings together five complementary courses to help you:

  • Recruit and select staff fairly and consistently
  • Prepare for and conduct effective interviews
  • Create structured and supportive staff inductions
  • Manage probationary reviews with greater confidence
  • Hold meaningful 1:1 meetings with staff
  • Understand key HR basics for managers
  • Apply learning in line with workplace policies and procedures
  • Make better-informed people management decisions

Courses included

This package includes access to five individual online training courses. Each course can be completed separately, with an individual certificate available after successful completion.

Learners will explore how to plan recruitment, define a role, review CVs, shortlist candidates, use selection exercises, avoid common recruitment mistakes and understand key legal and compliance considerations.

How to Undertake Effective Interviews
This interview skills training course helps managers prepare for and conduct fair, structured and effective interviews.
It covers interview types, question weighting, presentations, interview panels, preparing interview questions, evaluating candidates and providing feedback. Learners will gain practical guidance on reducing bias, improving consistency and making fairer candidate assessments.

Staff Inductions: A Manager’s Guide

Learners will explore what a staff induction should include, why induction matters, common mistakes, legal and compliance considerations, new starter surveys and how to help new employees settle into their role.

Probationary Reviews: A Manager’s Guide to Fair and Effective Staff Assessment
This probationary review training course helps managers prepare for and conduct fair, structured and effective probation review meetings. Learners will explore the purpose of probationary reviews, legal and compliance considerations, meeting preparation, decision-making, follow-up actions and common mistakes to avoid. The course supports managers to make informed decisions about confirming, extending or ending employment during the probation period.

Undertaking Effective 1:1s with Staff
This 1:1 meeting training course helps managers hold more meaningful, productive and supportive conversations with team members. Learners will explore confidentiality, planning and structure, active listening, communication, goal setting, staff development, managing expectations, handling difficult conversations and escalating concerns appropriately. Recruitment, interviews, staff induction, probation and 1:1 meetings are closely connected.

A structured probation review helps assess progress. Effective 1:1 meetings provide ongoing support, feedback and development.

Completing these courses together provides a joined-up understanding of the employee journey, helping managers build confidence and consistency across every stage of people management.

At the end of each course, you will complete an assessment to demonstrate your understanding. You will need to achieve a result of 80% or higher to pass. On successful completion, you will receive a downloadable certificate for each course within the package.

This course is designed to support knowledge and understanding but does not in itself confirm competence.

  • Competency should be assessed within your workplace
  • Practice should align with local protocols, current guidance, and professional standards
  • You are responsible for applying learning appropriately within your role
